Spine Physician Assistant
Samir S. Desai, PA-C, MHS is a Spine Physician Assistant who has been caring for spine patients alongside Dr. Douglas Won since 2006. After successfully completing the University of South Alabama – Physician Assistant Studies Program in 2003, he went on to proceed with further training at the Duke Physician Assistant Surgical Residency Program in Durham, North Carolina and became a member of the second class graduating from this prestigious postgraduate PA program. Then, he began working with a local orthopedic surgeon for two years in the realm of general orthopedics in the DFW Metroplex. Thereafter, he has been involved with Dr Douglas Won’s mission to provide the utmost professional care and up to date minimally invasive surgical techniques. He strives to provide a unique treatment plan for his patients, rather than a one-size fits all approach.
Keeping in mind the patients spine pathology, and providing quality care are what is important to him. Over the years he has learned what it is like to be a patient that wants someone to listen to their issues, and helping them understand the problem. It has become one of Samir’s main goals to always make sure his patients understand their spinal issues as well as understand their treatment plan. When needed, he will go the extra mile to sit down with his patient and talk to them in simple terms so they comprehend the minimally invasive treatment plans.
Samir is married and lives within the DFW Metroplex, and enjoys the outdoor recreational opportunities such as mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and camping. He is also a member of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
